📌Getting a flawless spray tan starts with proper prep and full transparency with your technician. First and foremost—spray tans cannot cover sunburns. In fact, applying a tan over burned or peeling skin will make things look worse. Be sure to use SPF, cover up in the sun, and always let your technician know if you've had recent sun exposure.

Retinol-based products and other active ingredients can interfere with your results.  Avoid them before your appointment or opt to skip spraying the face altogether.

Never exfoliate on the day of your tan. Your skin needs time to regenerate its skin cells + amino acids, which are essential for DHA (the active tanning ingredient) to properly develop. And remember—no Dove soap or body wash before your session, as it can leave a residue that disrupts your tan’s development.

During your processing period (usually 24 to 48 hours), avoid tight clothing and shoes that can rub the solution off. If you plan to get a manicure or pedicure, schedule it before your spray tan, or stick to a simple polish change.

Sweating, getting wet, or exposure to moisture too soon after your tan can lead to patchiness—but don’t stress! Many spray tan mishaps can be fixed. Always communicate with your technician about any concerns, sensitivities, or unexpected results.
